I believe that success in college and the workforce greatly depends on a strong K-12 foundation. By changing our schools to meet today’s demands, we can make a difference for our children’s future. As State Superintendent for Public Instruction, I will work hard to make sure all Hoosiers have a strong foundation for college, workforce and life.

    We can make a difference!

The schools of Indiana are going to face many exciting challenges and changes in the next few years. I hope to continue to have the opportunity to be a positive contributor to the enhancement of schools in our state. We need to continue to provide the best available education options for our children.

Just as my own children have been well-served by Indiana schools, I am committed to working with the people of Indiana to ensure that my granddaughter is able to attend schools that foster responsibility, respect, and opportunity. Indiana will be best served if we make it the highest priority to have an effective and efficient education system. It is morally right and economically sound to do all that is required to be building good children in the present.
